The Alcohol Policy Seminar - Now Accepting Presentation Proposals

Submit an Abstract for the 2018 Alcohol Policy Seminar

Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Dells, WI

Law Enforcement agencies, community coalitions, public health departments and civic groups are invited to submit workshop proposals for the 2018 Alcohol Policy Seminar. Workshops will be approximately 60 minutes in length. Topics must address some aspect of alcohol policy or alcohol-related law enforcement, such alcohol licensing, alcohol age compliance checks, enforcement actions to enforce alcohol laws and policies, alcohol initiation. Presentations on other topics are encouraged.

PowerPoint presentations are encouraged although not required. Panels should be limited to three participants. Presentations by vendors will not be considered.

A successful proposal will outline the specific alcohol policy topic, provide background on local implementation, lessons learned from implementation or continuing operation, and offer suggestions for other communities following the outline below.

Special consideration will be given to proposals representing multi-disciplinary groups or multi-jurisdictional law enforcement groups.

Registration fees will be waived for all presenters and panelists. All workshop speakers must complete a conflict of information disclosure statement listing potential financial conflicts with the alcohol or hospitality industry prior to the Seminar.

Proposals will be accepted through early April

To submit a proposal, email the below information to

  • Presenter(s) information: name, title, & organization
  • List the Skill and Background Level for the Workshop (attendees may attend any workshop):
    • Level I sessions do not require any specialized knowledge or background.
    • Level II sessions contain material that may require a general understanding of the principles of law enforcement, public health or alcohol policy to receive the full benefit of the session.
  • Title for proposed workshop
  • Proposed outcomes or learning objectives (100-word limit)
  • Describe the proposed session (200-word limit)
  • Presentations should be limited to three panelists
  • Accepting proposals through May 31
